Playtech's live casino business sees explosive growth in Brazil, as CEO Mor Weizer confirms Latin America’s leading role in the company’s future.

Playtech has marked a major milestone in its global operations, with CEO Mor Weizer confirming that Brazil has become the company’s largest live casino market worldwide. The announcement comes on the heels of Playtech’s strong FY24 financial results and amid growing interest in Latin America’s regulated gaming markets.

In an exclusive interview with Gambling Insider, Weizer shared his enthusiasm: “We are back. With a lot of passion!” when asked whether Playtech has reclaimed its position on the global stage.

Brazil's Live Casino Boom

With Brazil officially regulating online gambling at the beginning of 2025, the country has quickly transformed into a hotspot for live casino providers. Playtech, known for its global online casino and sportsbook solutions, has capitalized on this opportunity by rapidly expanding its footprint in the region.

Weizer stated: “There is a very significant opportunity in Brazil – which is already the largest contributor to our live casino vertical globally. We expect our partners to continue going from strength to strength in one of the most exciting countries for the industry alongside the US.”

Growth Beyond Brazil

While Brazil leads Playtech’s live casino operations, the company is also eyeing further expansion across Latin America. Weizer pointed to Mexico and Colombia as markets with strong growth potential in 2025 and beyond.

“You should expect significant growth in Mexico, continued positive movement in Colombia and we believe in the middle to longer-term prospects of the business there,” he explained.

Playtech’s Global Strategy

Beyond Latin America, Playtech continues to maintain a robust presence in the United States, particularly through its partnerships with leading brands such as MGM Resorts. The combination of North and South American growth is shaping Playtech’s strategy as it reasserts itself on the international stage.

The supplier’s FY24 financials, described as "strong," reinforce its momentum heading into 2025. With a focus on regulated markets and tier-one partnerships, Playtech is well-positioned to ride the wave of iGaming expansion in both established and emerging regions.

Conclusion

As Brazil takes the spotlight in Playtech’s global operations, the company’s renewed focus on Latin America signals a broader trend in the gaming industry. With regulation opening new doors and consumer interest at an all-time high, markets like Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia are set to define the next phase of growth for major players like Playtech.
